Suspect steals vehicle after driver leaves the engine running in South City

SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Drivers will wish to think twice about leaving their car on next time they go to the shop or filling station. Cops are presently investigating the theft of a car in south St. Louis where a female left her vehicle running during a trip to the filling station. The victim pulled into a BP filling station in the 1100 block of Hampton Opportunity on June 3. While she was inside, a gray Chevrolet Cruz pulled behind the victim’s automobile and a suspect got out. The suspect opened the victim’s car, a white Ford Focus, and the two automobiles repelled.
