LOWELL, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE )– J.B. Hunt Transport Solutions, Inc., (NASDAQ: JBHT) revealed 2nd quarter 2016 net profits of $105 million, or weakened revenues per share of 92 cents vs. 2nd quarter 2015 net incomes of $103 million, or 88 cents per diluted share. Total operating revenue for the current quarter was $1.62 billion, compared with $1.54 billion for the 2nd quarter 2015, an increase of 5%. Current quarter overall operating revenue, omitting fuel surcharges, increased 9% vs. the comparable quarter 2015. Load development of 9% in Intermodal (JBI) and 62% in Integrated Capability Solutions (ICS), a 5% increase in profits producing trucks in Dedicated Agreement Services (DCS) and an 11% increase in average fleet count in our Truck (JBT) business sector, added to the boost in consolidated profits compared with prior year. Running earnings for the existing quarter totaled $176 million versus $174 million for the 2nd quarter 2015. The advantages of volume growth, increases in revenue producing truck counts and greater equipment utilization, were substantially balanced out by boosts in rail bought transport costs, higher driver incomes and recruiting costs and increased devices ownership costs. In the second quarter of 2015, we taped a charge of approximately $14.1 million for corporate wide streamlining and innovation redevelopment costs. Interest expenditure in the present quarter decreased due to lower overall financial obligation levels from the same period in 2014. The efficient earnings tax rate for the quarter was 38.0% versus 38.1% for the 2nd quarter 2015. The 2016 yearly tax rate is expected to be roughly 38.0%.
