Gov. McCrory in car crash after Super Bowl

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) – Gov. Pat McCrory sustained small injuries after the car he was riding in was rear-ended soon after the Carolina Panthers’ Super Bowl loss. California Highway Patrol Officer Ross Lee said the vehicle was taking a trip on State Route 237 around 8 p.m. Sunday after leaving Levi’s Arena when it was hit from behind by a Mercedes. McCrory’s press secretary says the automobile the governor was riding in was completed. The governor’s workplace said in a declaration McCrory experienced “small pain” however was able to continue to his location in another vehicle. Lee said McCrory declined treatment. After the 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos, McCrory provided a declaration congratulating Panthers Coach Ron Rivera and the team for making it to the championship and for “putting North Carolina in the nationwide spotlight.” (Copyright 2016 The Associated Press.
