Duties: Under the basic guidance of the Fleet Service Organizer, the Mechanic II identifies devices failure, repair works, rebuilds and makes changes to a range of government mobile machinery and equipment utilized to carry out roadway maintenance activities for both summer and winter season operations. Utilizes specialized tools and devices situated at a federal government facility designed and geared up for mechanical work, assists with field repairs as needed, and other associated duties as needed to complete devices repair works, adjustments and/or preventative maintenance. Work is carried out in a mechanical repair service environment occasioned by noise, smoke and gas fumes and at times adverse weather while running in a field environment. Substantial standing, lifting, carrying or moving about within or outside is required. Qualifications: Candidates should have effectively completed Grade 12 and Provincial Certificate of Qualification in the Truck and Transport Trade plus 5 (5) years of diversified mechanical experience is needed.
