The 2017 Ford Combination mid-size sedan continues to be a comfortable, spacious, and attractive entries in a competitive glass. It competes with the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, and a new and much improved Chevrolet Malibu. It’s also supremely comfortable, athletic, space-efficient, and packed with innovation. We called it our Best Automobile to Purchase in 2013, when this existing generation launched, and it continues to earn high ratings. For its fifth year on the marketplace, the Fusion gets a light refresh that consists of slightly upgraded frontal styling, some upgrades to the interior, a new Platinum top-end trim level, and a put efficiency design called the Combination V-6 Sport. The profile, position, and information of the Fusion remain to make it one of the more attractive cars among mid-size sedans. The fastback shape looks particularly dashing in darker colors. This year, the grille is slightly wider and sleeker, and brand-new LED headlamps join the LED taillamps. A brand-new chrome strip at the rear includes “stylish imagery,” and there are brand-new wheel designs also. For 2017, the Combination includes a 5th powertrain choice, a new 325-horsepower twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 in the Fusion Sport model that puts out 350 lb-ft of torque. It comes conventional with four-wheel drive, and is substantially more powerful than bigger V-6 engines in the Accord and Camry. It gets continually managed damping that finds potholes and changes the damping to lower their effect. The base powertrain stays a 178-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and six-speed automatic transmission, with only adequate efficiency that does not live up to the rakish design. Then there’s a 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbo four coupled to the exact same automatic transmission; offering a more rewarding drive that can deliver great real-world gas mileage.
